Convert Amr Files To Mp3 Format In Linux

AMR (Adaptive Multi-Rate) files are a type of audio file that is used on 3G cell phones. AMR files typically house voice recordings from the cell phones. If you want to convert the AMR files to MP3 format and are running Linux on your computer, you can use the Mobile Media Converter.

Instructions

1. Go to the Miksoft website, and download and install Mobile Media Converter to your computer. This is a freeware program so you do not have to pay for it.

2. Launch Mobile Media Converter. You will see a large white area on the screen that is for files to be converted.

3. Locate the AMR files you want to convert. Drag and drop those files onto the large white area of the screen. Alternately, you can click the "+" button to add the files.

4. Select "MP3" as your output file type where it reads "Conversion." For the output file location, you can select a place on your computer you want the new MP3 file to be saved to.

5. Click "Convert Now" when you are ready to convert. When the conversion completes, a pop-up screen will appear to let you know. Close the screen and you will be able to use the new MP3 file.
