Unlock A Motorola F3

The Motorola Motofone F3 is a quad-band Global Systems for Mobile Communications (GSM) cellular telephone that is capable of operating at 850, 900,1800 and 1900 Megahertz. This basic cellular phone features messaging and a lithium-ion battery that offers up to 4.5 hours of talk time and 300 hours of stand-by time. The phone originally was released in June 2006 and is no longer in production. The Motorola Motofone F3 is compatible with GSM carriers in the United States. The phone was sold with a carrier lock, meaning you couldn't use it with another cellular service provider's Subscriber Identity Module (SIM) card. It is, however, possible to unlock the Motorola Motofone F3 for use on other cellular networks.

Instructions

1. Call your cellular service provider and request the unlock code for your Motorola Motofone F3. Service providers typically will give you the unlock code for your phone if you have an active account in good standing.

2. Purchase the unlock code from a company that specializes in selling cellular phone unlock codes if you are unable to get the unlock code from your cellular service provider (see Resources).

3. Remove the back cover from your cell phone and lift the battery from the battery compartment. Slide the SIM card out of the Motorola Motofone F3.

4. Insert the new SIM card.

5. Replace the battery and the back cover, and turn on the phone.

6. Enter the unlock code.
