Use A Nokia E71

The Nokia E71 is a smartphone released in July 2008. It has received several accolades and honors, including Mobile Choice Consumer Awards' 2008 Phone of the Year and the GSMA Awards' Best Mobile Handset or Device of 2009. The E71 comes equipped with many amenities, such as quick access to menus, applications and settings; music player capabilities; mobile Web Internet access; and of course, basic call functions. All of these options are relatively simple to use. With simple navigation through the phone's menu, its features and functions are just a few buttons away.

Instructions

Use Basic Phone Call Functions

1. Press and hold the "Power Key" in the upper right corner at the top of the E71. Release the key when the phone's LCD screen and keypad light up. When the phone powers on, notice the set of keys between the screen and keypad. These four keys are the main navigation keys on the phone.

2. Press the "Contacts" key, which is the second navigation key. Use the square key directly in the middle of the phone to go through the "Contacts" list. Stop at the contact you want to call and simply hit the green "Call" key to place a call from your contacts.

3. Place a call by manually keying in a phone number. Dial the number in the numeric keypad below the navigation keys. Press the green "Call" key on the left side of the keypad directly below the navigation keys to place the call.

4. Press the red "End" key on the right side to end the call. (The green and red keys also can be used to answer and end incoming calls.)

Send Text Messages

5. Press the "Home" key, which is the first key on the left side of the navigation keys. The "Home" key takes you to the E71's main menu.

6. Use the square key to navigate up and down the main menu.

7. Go to the "Messaging" folder. Select the "Menu" under Text Messaging in the Messaging folder. Select the "Communic." option, and choose "Text Message." A blank text field will appear on the LCD screen.

8. Scroll to the "To" text field. Enter the 10-digit mobile number for the text message recipient.
