Pair A Bluetooth Headset & Motorola Cellphone

Charge your headset's battery fully before you begin.

Most Motorola cellphones support Bluetooth connections and can be used with almost any wireless headset. Before you can use your headset for hands-free conversations, you will need to pair it with your Motorola phone. Pairing creates a secure connection between your phone and Bluetooth headset, allowing them to connect when they are within range. Bluetooth devices can connect over a maximum distance of about 30 feet. You should only need to pair your devices once -- your Motorola will save the headset as a trusted device.

Instructions

1. Activate pairing mode on your headset. For many headsets, this is accomplished by pressing and holding the "Power" or "Call" button for approximately five seconds, until the indicator lights flash. This step can vary slightly depending on the headset you are using -- see your user guide for details.

2. Open the menu on your Motorola phone and select "Settings." From the "Settings" menu, select "Connections."

3. Select "Bluetooth." Choose "Options," then "Search for Device." If you are prompted to activate Bluetooth, select "Yes." Your phone will begin searching for in range Bluetooth devices.

4. Select the name of your headset from the list of discovered devices. Use your keypad to enter the headset pairing passcode if prompted. This is set by the headset manufacturer and is usually "0000" or "1234." Refer to your user guide for details.

5. Press "OK." A "Pairing Complete" confirmation will display, and your phone and headset will connect automatically.
