Check For A Replacement Of The Nokia Bl5c Battery

Nokia BL-5C batteries manufactured by the Matsushita Battery Industrial Company between December 2005 and November 2006 have the potential to short circuit and overheat while charging. Nokia has issued a product recall for the Matsushita manufactured batteries. Nokia estimates 46 million BL-5C batteries out of more than 300 million are covered under the recall. You can check if your BL-5C batteries are covered under the recall using the Nokia website.

Instructions

1. Check your phone model. The defective batteries were only included with certain models of Nokia devices. You can find the model number on a sticker inside the battery compartment.

2. Remove the battery from the phone and check the model number. If the model number is not BL-5C, your battery is not covered under the replacement policy.

3. Open your computer's web browser and go to the Nokia Product Advisory page at batteryreplacement.nokia.com.

4. Type your BL-5C product identification number into the box at the bottom of the page and click the "Submit" button. You can find the product identification number on the back of the battery near the bottom. The next page will tell you whether your battery is covered by the recall.

5. Call Nokia customer care at 888-665-4228 if your battery is covered.
