Repair A Jawbone 2

A Bluetooth-enabled headset, such as a Jawbone 2, makes life easier when you are trying to talk on your phone while doing other things, such as driving. Of course like any other electronic device your Jawbone 2 can break or become damaged over time. If you have a damaged Jawbone 2 you can actually open up the unit and try to repair it yourself.

Instructions

1. Take your Jawbone 2 in hand and locate the end of the unit closest to the earbud. Insert the tip of your flat-head screwdriver in the seam where the plastic cover meets the end of the unit.

2. Pry the cover gently off of the unit and set it aside. The internal circuit board will now be visible in the unit.

3. Locate the volume and power buttons closer to the earbud and clear any dirt or debris from the internal buttons. If the problem lies with the microphone rather than the buttons, proceed.

4. Locate the orange microphone ribbon cable near the bottom of the unit and check the connection where it plugs into the circuit board. If the connection is loose unplug the cable and plug it back in, making sure it is secure.
