Save Ringtones

Most cell phones offer users the option of saving their own ringtones.

Today's cell phones come outfitted with an array of ringtones. However, cell phone users may choose to customize their ringtones by adding new ones to their phone. You can find ringtones online and download them by sending them to your phone in a text message. Once the ringtone is received on your phone, you must save it. You can transfer it to a memory card, if your phone has one.

Instructions

1. Search the Internet for your desired ringtone. There are many websites offering free ringtones for download as well as paid sites requiring a subscription. Decide if you want to pay for the ringtone, then search for ringtones. You can search by song, artist, sound effects and many other options.

2. Choose your delivery method. Once you have selected your ringtone, you will see the option to send it to your phone by text message. Choose this option and enter your mobile phone number. You will receive a text message notification. Click on "View" and open the message with the ringtone. Select "Options," "Save as" and "Ringtone." You will now have the ringtone saved to your phone. You also may have the option of saving your ringtone to your phone by using a memory card. This option is available only on certain phones.

3. Insert your memory card into your phone, if this option is available to you. Click on the "Menu" option and select "Settings." Select "Memory" and "Card memory." Click on "My sounds." Look through the available sound files and select the one you want to use as your ringtone. Select "Move" to save the ringtone directly onto your phone's memory.
