The Motorola i425 phone comes in a slim and handy design, which allows you to easily slip it into your purse or pocket. It also comes packed with features, such as push-to-talk, a speakerphone, GPS navigation and Java software. This Motorola comes on the Nextel network, which supports Boost Mobile. However, you may want to unlock it for use with another mobile provider. This also is beneficial if you plan to travel outside of your calling area. You need specific information about your phone before you can unlock it.
Instructions
1. Enter "*#06#" on your Motorola i425's dial pad. Press the "Send" button. Write down the 15-digit IMEI number that is displayed.
2. Contact your mobile phone provider. Verify your account information, including your account number, mobile phone number and the last four digits of your Social Security number.
3. Ask for an unlock code. Provide your phone's IMEI number.
4. Turn off your mobile phone. Remove the protective cover on the back of the Motorola i425. Take out the battery and SIM card, which is in the lower right corner.
5. Replace the SIM card with one from your new provider. Replace the battery and protective cover. Turn on your phone.
6. Enter the unlock code, when prompted. Your phone reboots and displays the new wireless network.
