Call Korea From The United States

You can place an international call from your land line or mobile phone without the assistance of an operator. Calls to contacts in North and South Korea from the United States can be placed within minutes. Depending on your phone service provider and your phone plan, you may incur charges for calling internationally.


Instructions


1. Pick up your land line phone and listen for the dial tone. Enter the international direct dialing (IDD) number on the phone's handset. The IDD number indicates that you are dialing the number without the assistance of an operator and the call is originating from the United States. The IDD number for the U.S. is "011."


2. Enter the country code for the person you are calling. If you are calling South Korea, the country code is "82." The country code for North Korea is "850."


3. Enter the area code and phone number of the person you are calling. Wait for the person to answer and begin the conversation.
