Set Up Bluetooth Handsfree

Use a Bluetooth handsfree headset for added convenience when talking on your cell phone.

Bluetooth is a wireless protocol by which two devices can connect with one another. One of the most common examples of Bluetooth usage is between a cell phone and a handsfree headset. There are many different makes and models of the handsfree headset, but they're all wireless earpieces that have a speaker and a microphone so you can talk without having to hold the phone up to your ear. Although different phones have slightly varying processes for syncing up with the handsfree headset, the general outline of the process is the same.

Instructions

1. Charge your Bluetooth headset for at least an hour.

2. Turn on your phone and navigate to the "Connect" or "Settings" option and make sure that Bluetooth is turned on.

3. Hold down the "Power" button on your Bluetooth device for a few seconds until it begins flashing.

4. Go back to the home screen on your phone and navigate to your "Bluetooth" menu, then select "Search for New Device" or "Pair" to force your phone into finding the Bluetooth headset's signal.

5. Choose the Bluetooth handsfree headset from the list of found devices on your phone.

6. Enter "0000" as the passcode to finish pairing the devices. You may also have the option to name the Bluetooth headset, which will help you pair the devices faster next time. A confirmation message will appear, notifying you that the devices have been connected successfully.
