Transfer Contacts From A Phone To A Sim Card

Keeping contact information safe is important to building relationships and networking.

Saving your contacts is important to help preserve the relationships you have developed over time. As a result, when you purchase a new cell phone or need to copy your contacts, a subscriber identity module (SIM) card is an important backup tool. The SIM card may have a formatted address book, which allows you to save contacts from your phone's memory. Some phones require that you move each contact manually while others allow you to copy everything at once.

Instructions

Save Individual Contacts

1. Open the "Contacts" list on your phone.

2. Select a contact. Click on the contact to open the contact's information.

3. Select the "Menu" option to open the contact's menu. You may need to highlight a specific phone number--fax or home, for example--using your phone's navigation buttons, touch screen or trackball prior to pressing the "Menu" option.

4. Select "Save to SIM" to save the contact. Your phone may save the entire contact, or, you may need to enter the name and other information to complete the process. If the SIM card prompts you for additional information--contact name, for example--enter the required information to complete the save.
