Troubleshoot A Nokia Twist

The Nokia 7705 Twist was released from Verizon Wireless. Marketed as a full messaging device, it features a full QWERTY keyboard and swiveling a 2.4-inch display screen. Like most wireless phones, there may come a time when your Twist malfunctions and limits its usability. Common problems include the inability to make or receive calls as well as send or receive text and multimedia messages. Many times, performing simple troubleshooting steps on your Twist identifies and corrects these problems.

Instructions

1. Check your Twist's battery and service meters. These are at the top of the display screen. Verify you have at least two bars of service and a charged battery. Your phone's service can malfunction if you are in an area with low service. Some mobile features may not be available if your battery is not charged.

2. Complete a full power cycle. This means to power the phone off, wait one minute then power the phone back on. This will reset the network connect on your Nokia Twist and usually resolves most issues with making and receiving calls as well as sending and receiving text messages.

3. Perform a power shock. While your phone is powered on, remove the back and battery. Leave the battery out for several minutes then place it back into the device. Power your phone on and place both incoming and outgoing calls to see if the issues have been resolved. Send and receive a text message to verify you can use your texting service.

4. Contact Verizon Wireless at (800) 922-0204 for contract services, and (888) 294-6804 for prepaid. After verifying your account, ask the representative to verify your service is active, the correct features are programmed to your account and that there are no outages in your area. If your account is set-up correctly, ask to be transferred to a technical support agent.

5. Explain any issues you are having in great detail to the technical support agent, especially when the problem started and any actions that may have caused it. Technical support has access to internal systems that can identify and correct the problem. If the problem resulted from a faulty device, they can determine if your device will be replaced under a warranty exchange or an insurance claim.
