Set Up Voice Mail On A Nokia 2285

Nokia 2285 is a dual-band CDMA phone that was offered through Tracfone and Verizon wireless. This phone was manufactured in 2003 and is no longer available as a given handset, but if you already have one, you can still use it through Tracfone or Verizon. The voice mail service must be activated with the provider before you can set it up.


Instructions


Setting Up Voice Mail in Your Phone


1. Press "Menu" followed by "Voice Messages," then "Voice Mailbox Number."


2. Dial in your voice mailbox number, which can be up to 32 digits in length, then confirm by pressing "OK."


3. Contact your service provider to set a voice greeting. The greeting settings differ according to the service provider.


Listening to Your Voice Mail


4. Press "Listen" and follow the onscreen prompts when you hear the "New Voice Message" tone. If you don't want to listen to the message right away, press "Exit."


5. Listen to the voice mail later by pressing the number "1" for two or more seconds.


6. Enter the phone's main menu and locate the "Messages" folder.


7. Open "Voice Messages," then "Listen to voice messages." The phrase "Calling Voice Mailbox" should display on screen. Put the phone to your ear and follow the audio prompts to listen to your voice mail messages.
