Use A Skype 3 Phone As A Usb Dongle

The Skype 3 Phone (also know as the 3 Skypephone) is a mobile device meant to optimize Skype's Internet telephony service. In addition to taking Skype's many features on the go, i.e., free or cheap calls/texts and instant messaging, the Skype 3 Phone can also be used as a USB dongle, or a portable memory device used for temporary file storage. Start transferring and storing files onto your Skype 3 Phone today.

Instructions

1. Make sure your Skype 3 Phone's MicroSD memory card is installed. Without the memory card, your phone cannot be used as a USB dongle.

2. Insert one end of the USB cable into your Skype 3 Phone. Plug the other end of the USB cable into an available USB port on your PC. The drive folder should appear on your computer's desktop as "USB Mass Storage." This drive represents your Skype 3 Phone being recognized by your computer as an external hard drive connected via USB.

3. Open up a new finder/explorer window on your computer and navigate to the folder containing the file(s) that you would like to put on your Skype 3 Phone (the "USB Mass Storage" drive). Once you have found the file(s), select and drag them onto the "USB Mass Storage" drive icon using your mouse. The "USB Mass Storage" drive icon can be found on your desktop and/or on the left hand side of your finder/explorer window. Dragging the file(s) onto the icon will copy them from your computer to the "USB Mass Storage" drive.

4. When you are done copying the file(s) from your computer to the "USB Mass Storage" device, safely eject "USB Mass Storage" (your Skype 3 Phone) from your computer.
