Get free VoIP on your cell phone.
Many mobile VoIP services require that you install their calling software on your cell phone to make calls over the Internet. You can talk free and send instant messages to anyone that has the software installed on her cell phone, too. Before you register with a mobile VoIP service, however, find out if you can use the software on your cell phone. Some cellular phone providers may restrict VoIP services over their network.
Instructions
1. Contact your cellular phone provider to inquire about its service contract agreement. Get information about installing software from mobile VoIP services on your cell phone. Ask if you will be charged any additional fees for using a VoIP network to make free calls and send instant messages.
2. Download the calling software from the mobile VoIP's website. Look for the "Download" hyperlink on the Web page and click on it. Follow the website's instructions for installing the calling software application on your cell phone.
3. Click the name and model of your cell phone from the menu list. Use the "Choose Your Country" drop-down menu to select the country where you live. Enter your area code and cell phone number without any spaces in the Mobile Number field.
4. Type your email address in the Email Address field, and click the "Join" or "Download" button. Keep in mind that various types of mobile VoIP services' software installation and registration instructions may differ. You could be instructed to open the Web browser on your cell phone and enter the URL address that's shown on the Web page or download the calling software on your cell phone via a SMS or WAP connection.
5. Click the download hyperlink that's shown on your cell phone's display screen to start the software installation. Read the End User Agreement and press the "OK" button. Set up your mobile VoIP account on the registration screen. Create a username and type it in the User ID field. Then create a password and type it in the Password field. Click the "Registration" button when you're done.
6. Configure and add the VoIP services that you are registered with to make and receive free calls. Tick the check box next to the VoIP network services that you want to use. Type in your username in the User ID field, enter your password in the Password field and then press the "OK" button.
7. Press the "Back" button when you're finished. Your contacts from the VoIP network services will automatically be imported to your mobile VoIP contact list. To start the mobile VoIP service, look for the icon on the display screen and tap it.
