Unlock The Telstra Prepaid Mobile

Telstra is a cellular service provider that offers pre-paid mobile phone plans. Once you purchase one of these plans, your phone will only be able to use that service provider. However, there are ways to unlock your phone in order to use it with other service plans. The process involves getting a code, but you don't need to know much about electronics in order to unlock the phone.

Instructions

1. Navigate to a website that provides unlock codes for cellular phones (see Resources). Many sites will sell you an unlocking code.

2. Enter the make and model of your particular cell phone in the information boxes on the website, and enter your service provider, which in this case is Telstra.

3. Enter your payment information when prompted, and confirm the purchase. The unlock code will be sent to the email address you provided in the payment information.

4. Retrieve your unlock code from the email, and turn on your Telestra phone.

5. Enter the unlock code on your phone as you would a telephone number, and press "Send." A message will appear on the phone that says "Unlocked." You can now remove the SIM card from your particular phone and replace it with one from another service provider.
