Use The Nokia N95 As A Tv Remote

Control your TV using your N95 handset.


The Nokia N95 is part of the N Series. It is a smart phone which features a 5 megapixel camera and a music player. Like many Nokia smart phones, the N95 runs on a Symbian platform - this means that it is compatible with various types of applications. IrRemote is an application which allows your N95 to control external devices.


Instructions


1. Download the "irRemote" installation file - a link is provided in the Resources section.


2. Connect your phone to a computer using the USB cable.


3. Select "Data Transfer" on your phone screen - a message will then appear, select "Ok" to continue.


4. On your computer, click start and open "Computer." Double click the drive allocated to the N95 to open it.


5. Open "Filesystem" in the N95 folder, right click on an empty space, scroll to "New" and select "New Folder." Copy and paste the installation file for irRemote into this folder.


6. Return to "Computer," right click on the N95 drive and select "Eject." Disconnect the USB cable from your phone.


7. On your phone, pres "Menu," open "Tools," and then "File Manager." Press the right arrow key to switch to the mass storage memory.


8. Scroll to your created folder and open it - in here, you will find the installation file. Open the file and select "Yes" when asked if you wish to install.


9. Run through the installation process - once this process is complete, the application will be located in the "Applications" folder. Navigate to and open the program.


10. Select "TV" from the device list and enter details about your TV's make and model. You will now be able to control your TV using your N95 handset.
