Tether A Motorola Q To An Acer Aspire One

Tether a Motorola Q to an Acer Aspire One

In mobile phone terminology, "tethering" is connecting your phone to a computer so you can use the data services on the phone to power the Internet on the computer. This is helpful when you don't have access to Wi-Fi. The Motorola Q is a smartphone that runs on the Windows Mobile operating system. Windows Mobile has an Internet sharing feature built in that you can set up to start tethering.

Instructions

1. Boot up your Acer Aspire One laptop. Turn on your Motorola Q.

2. Click "Internet Sharing" on the main menu of your Motorola Q. Select "USB" under PC Connection.

3. Connect your Motorola Q to your Acer Aspire One using the USB cable that came with your phone. Wait for the Windows operating system on your Acer Aspire One to download the appropriate drivers to your laptop. This will happen automatically when you connect the two devices.

4. Click "Connect" on the Motorola Q's Internet sharing menu. The Status will then change to "Connected" to indicate that you are now Internet sharing. Click "Disconnect" when you are finished.
