Connect A Headset To A Samsung

Most Bluetooth headsets work with your Samsung phone.

Samsung makes a variety of mobile phones, and many of them support Bluetooth connectivity. Using your Samsung with a wireless headset is a convenient way to have a hands-free conversation. To use the devices together, you will need to connect them using a process called pairing. Pairing requires your Samsung and headset to be within range -- a distance of no more than 33 feet apart. The process only takes a few moments and generally only needs to be completed once.

Instructions

1. Place the headset in pairing mode. For many headsets, pairing mode is activated by pressing and holding the "Call" or "Power" button until the indicator light flashes or stays solidly lit. See your headset's user guide for specific instructions.

2. Select "Menu" from the home screen to open your Samsung's main menu.

3. Select "Settings." From the "Settings" menu, choose "Connectivity" or "Wireless and Networks" -- depending on the device you are using.

4. Select "Bluetooth" or "Bluetooth Settings," depending on your model.

5. Turn on Bluetooth by touching the Bluetooth icon or selecting the "On" option or check box.

6. Choose "Search" or "Scan Devices." The phone will begin scanning for nearby discoverable devices.

7. Select the name of your headset when it appears on the screen.

8. Enter the headset's pairing passkey if prompted. The passkey is set by the headset manufacturer, but many use "0000" or "1234." See your headset's user guide for details. Press "Pair" or "OK" to complete pairing.
