What Is Microsoft Net Framework 2 0

Microsoft .NET Framework is a "platform for building, deploying and running Web Services and applications," according to Microsoft MSDN. Moreover, it produces a multi-language environment for the integration of existing applications and services with newer-generation ones.

Structure

Microsoft .NET Framework is made of three parts: Common Language Runtime, which is the execution engine for .NET Framework applications; a hierarchical set of unified class libraries, which also provide classes for role-based security; and a version of Active Server Pages called ASP.NET.

Version 2.0

The Microsoft .NET Framework version 2.0 installs the .NET Framework runtime and associated files required to run applications developed to target the .NET Framework v2.0. It also improves the scalability and performance of applications.

System Requirements

Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 supports the following operating systems: Windows 2000 Service Pack 3, Windows 98, Windows 98 Second Edition, Windows ME, Windows Server 2003 and Windows XP Service Pack 2. Moreover, the computer needs to have a Windows Installer, Internet Explorer and a minimum of 280 MB disk space.
