Activate A Blackberry 9530

The BlackBerry 9530 can't help you organize your life until it's activated. Activating your phone is what makes it capable of making and receiving calls, sending and receiving text messages, surfing the Internet or any of the other things the BlackBerry 9530 is capable of. Luckily activating your BlackBerry is a simple process--all it takes is a phone call or a trip to your cell phone store.

Instructions

1. Remove the back cover to remove the battery.

Call your cell phone provider. Tell the representative that you want to activate your new cell phone. The rep will ask you to open the back of your phone and remove the battery, and will then ask you to read the series of numbers at the bottom of the of the battery well. Once they have this information they will activate your BlackBerry.

2. Activate your BlackBerry online. Point your web browser to your cell phone company's website and log into your account. Because each provider is different the online activation section may be in different places. Click the site map of your provider's website. This will give you a list of everything that can be done on the site. From there you should be able to locate an activation link.

The site will then ask you to enter some information about yourself and your phone. You may be asked to enter your date of birth, account password, or phone number so that the website can authenticate your identity. It will then ask you to enter the serial number on your phone. This number is usually found by removing the battery from your phone. The serial number is usually found underneath the battery.

3. Visit your local cell phone store. If your cell phone provider has a store in your area, the reps there will be able to activate your phone for you. They may even be able to upload your contacts and show you use your BlackBerry's features.
