Access Files On A Cell Phone

Use a memory card to access cell phone files.

Smartphones allow you to transport files using your cell phone. Store files on your memory card or on the phone's memory, and access these files a variety of ways--directly from your phone or on your computer using a connecting cord or SD memory card adapter. These files also can be copied onto your computer with the same tools.

Instructions

1. Open the main menu on your phone. Choose "My Stuff" and select the type of file you wish to access. Choose the location of your files, such as "My Phone" or "Memory Card." Click the file to open the file on your cell phone.

2. Open the program to run the file you wish to open on your phone (such as Microsoft Word or Windows Media Player). Choose "File" or "Options," and "Open." Select the file and open with the program.

3. Eject the memory card from the phone and put in the SD card adapter, or plug the USB connecting cord into the phone and a free USB drive. Open "My Computer" and select the drive for your phone or memory card. Choose a folder and access the files directly from your computer.
