One of the features of the Samsung E250 is its ability to send and receive Multimedia Messaging Service messages, known as MMS messages. MMS messages not only allow text transmissions, but the messages can also include pictures, video or sound. The E250 allows you to configure the device to modify the type of messages that you both send and receive.
Receiving Options
The "Receiving Options" settings control how your E250 will receive MMS messages. You can choose to automatically reject messages form unknown senders, to allow MMS advertisements to go through, and to retrieve messages while you are roaming. You can also set up the device to notify the sender when you receive a message.
Sending Options
The "Sending Options" settings deal with how your E250 will send MMS messages. You can set up your device to receive notification when one of your messages has gone through, or when it has been read by the recipient. You can also set a priority level, hide your identity, set a delivery date and time, and choose how long messages will sit, undelivered, on the server before they are deleted.
Message Class
The "Message Class" setting will determine the type of messages you are allowed to create and send through the E250. Your options are "Text," which allows 30 KB of text, "Small Imaging," which allows pictures up to 30 KB, "Moderate Imaging," which allows pictures up to 100 KB, "Small Video," which allows pictures and video up to 100 KB, and "Moderate Video," which allows pictures and video up to 300 KB.
Creation Mode
Creation mode determines how strictly your device adheres to the rules you set up in the "Message Class" section. You can have the device restrict messages to only allow those that adhere to the message class rules, or you can simply have the phone give you a warning when you try to send a message outside of those boundaries, but still send the message anyway. You can also choose "Free" which means your device will ignore the "Message Class" settings.
Block Number
"Block Number" allows you to enter phone numbers that your device will reject messages from. There is no limit on the number of phone numbers you can enter. Any number that you enter here will also be restricted from sending SMS messages to you.
Multimedia Message Profile
The device will automatically set up your MMS profile when you program the phone, but if you need to change the settings for any reason, you can do it here. If you have multiple profiles on the device, you can chose "Current Profile" to switch between them.
