MP3 Conversion

Some iTunes audio files have the AMR file extension, indicating the Adaptive Multi-Rate ACELP Codec file type. AMR files may be converted into various other audio file types, including MP3, using a free media conversion tool available on the web. Media-Convert allows users to convert several media types, including audio files, without requiring any additional software downloads or installations. To use Media-Convert, the user just needs to have internet access and a web browser installed on their computer.

Instructions

1. Open Media-Convert in a web browser (See "Resources" section for link).

2. Click the "File" input box. A File Navigation window will appear.

3. Navigate to the AMR file to convert.

4. Select the "Adaptive Multi-Rate (.amr)" option from the drop-down menu labeled "Input Format."

5. Select the "MPEG -- ½ Audio Layer 3 (.mp3)" option from the "Output Format" drop-down menu.

6. Click the blue "OK" button to convert the file. The new MP3 file will be saved in the same directory where the AMR file is located.
