Change The Keyboard Layout On A Nokia E61

The Nokia E61 is a cell phone manufactured by the Finnish telecommunications company. You cannot rearrange the keys physically on your phone, but the Nokia E61 has several buttons that can be programmed to perform different functions. This feature saves you from entering the menu each time you want to access a particular application. Changing the functions of these buttons is quite straightforward via the phone's "Settings" menu and will take about five minutes.

Instructions

1. Press the "Menu" button to the left of the joystick.

2. Tap the joystick until "Tools" is selected. Press down the joystick.

3. Repeat Step 2, selecting (in order) "Settings," "Phone" and "Standby Mode."

4. Select "Active Standby" and then "Off." Press backspace.

5. Select either "Left Selection Key," "Right Selection Key," "Navigation Key Up," "Navigation Key Down," "Navigation Key Left" or "Navigation Key Right" in the "Standby Mode" menu.

6. Choose a function for the selection key using the joystick. Repeat Step 5, choosing different keys.

7. Press the red "Hang Up/End" key to exit the menu. Your changes are automatically saved.
