Upon unlocking the password on your Samsung SGH-A127, you will be able to use a SIM card from any GSM network in the world, which means you will not have to be restricted to a particular network. Additionally, if you travel abroad for work or vacation, you will not have to rack up expensive roaming charges as you will be able to use local networks. For unlocking the password, you have to obtain an unlock code from a phone unlock website.
Instructions
1. Open up the back cover of your Samsung A127 and slide the battery out. Here, you will find a small sticker containing 15 digits (the phone's IMEI number). Make note of these digits, as you will be needing them when placing an order for an unlock password.
2. Fill out the order form at a pay site that sells unlock passwords (such as Unlock it Now, Cell Corner or Unlock All Cellular). When you go to the website, you will have to provide information such as the phone's IMEI number, network it is locked to, your name and email address.
3. Provide your credit card number and billing address for purchasing the unlock password. The password will arrive via email.
4. Insert an unaccepted SIM card into the phone and switch it on.
5. Type this into the phone: "#0111*CODE#", where the CODE is the unlock password you purchased from the website.
6. Press the "Send" key. Your phone's screen should now read the message, "Personalization Canceled."
