Convert Amr To Mp3

Switch Audio File Conversion Utility

The Adaptive Multi-Rate Codec, or AMR, file is a standard file type used by 3G cell phones for human speech and voice recordings. AMR files may be converted to MP3 format or any other audio format using an audio-conversion application. Many audio-conversion utility programs are shareware or freeware, and others offer trials of the products. Some downloadable options include Cool Music Converter (AudioEditor) and Switch (NCH Software).

Instructions

1. Download and install your preferred audio-conversion utility application (see Resources).

2. Open the application. Click "Add Files."

3. Navigate to the .amr file you want to convert. To filter the music-file types, select the ".amr" file type from the File Type dropdown menu on the Add Files dialog box. Select the file to be converted.

4. Specify the output folder. In Switch, click on the 'Browse' button and navigate to the desired folder.

5. Choose the output file type by selecting ".mp3" from the dropdown menu in the application window. All conversion utility applications should have a variation of this function.

6. Click the "Convert" or red button to begin the file conversion.

7. Click the "Open Output Folder" button or open Windows Explorer and navigate to the output folder. Verify that the newly converted .mp3 file has been saved with no errors by playing the file in a compatible audio player.
