Set Up The Aim On A Nokia 5700

You can now chat on AIM from your handset.


Nokia 5700 is a GSM swivel phone that contains 38MB of internal storage and up to 4GB external memory. Your Nokia 5700 may contain AIM, depending on the network provider. All Nokia 5700s contain IM, but you must have an Internet connection, text messaging or IM service to use it.


Instructions


Connecting


1. Go to "Menu," "Settings" then "IM" from your handset.


2. Log in to AIM by going to "Options," then "Log in."


3. Enter your username and password in the boxes provided.


4. Go to the "IM" menu on your handset and navigate to "Options," then "Settings."


5. Select "Show Availability" to set options of who is allowed to see you.


6. Select "On app. Start up" to connect to AIM automatically.


Downloading AIM


7. Go to Ebuddy.com from your PC and download the IM program. This program includes AIM, MSN, YAHOO and ICQ.


8. Install your phone's software, then connect your handset to your PC via the USB cord. Do not skip this step.


9. Open the "Start" menu located in the bottom left corner of the toolbar.


10. Locate your phone in the driver list in the "My Computer" folder. Double-click this drive. Open the "Accessories folder "and minimize it.


11. Go to the location in which you saved the ebuddy download, and drag it over to the Open accessories folder from your phone.


Connecting to Ebuddy


12. Unplug your phone from the USB port.


13. Go to the accessories folder through your handsets main menu, or navigate to your memory stick options.


14. Open the Ebuddy program and select AIM. Log into AIM with your username and password.
