Download Games to a Mobile Phone With a Computer Via USB Cable

Many cellular providers offer the ability to send games directly to your phone for a small fee. If you already have a mobile game saved on your computer that you've downloaded from a website and you need to transfer it to your phone, you can send it across using a USB cable. The exact method of transferring the game will be slightly different depending on whether your brand of mobile phone requires software to send and receive data from a computer.

Instructions

Software Required

1. Check the manual that came with your mobile phone to see if you need any special software from the manufacturer to transfer files from your computer to the phone. Open your web browsing program and navigate to the website for the manufacturer of your computer if you do need the software but don't already have it installed on your hard drive.

2. Navigate to the "Downloads" section of the website and find the transfer software that corresponds to your phone, such as "Motorola Phone Tools" or "Sony Ericsson PC Suite" (see Resources below).

3. Download the software's installation file and then navigate to the folder where the file was saved. Double-click the file and follow the instructions on the screen to complete the installation process.

4. Open the software program by double-clicking on its desktop icon once it has been installed. Plug one end of the cable into your phone's output jack and then connect the other end into any of the open USB ports on your computer.

5. Wait for the program to recognize your phone and then click on the "Synchronization" or "Transfer" button, depending on which software program you are using. Open the "My Computer" folder on your desktop and navigate to the folder that has the game you want to transfer.

6. Click on the game and drag it across to the transfer area in the phone software, or instead click on the "Browse" button and double-click on the name of the game. Click the "Send" button to transfer the game to your phone.

No Software Required

7. Power on your phone and navigate to the Settings menu. Locate the "Share" setting if your phone has one and turn the sharing mode on.

8. Connect one end of the cable to an open USB port on your computer and the other to the output jack on your mobile phone.

9. Wait for a box to pop up asking what action you want to take. Click on the option to "Open a folder to view files."

10. Open the "My Computer" folder on your desktop and navigate to the location where the game is saved.

11. Click on the game and drag it into the first window to transfer the game to your phone.
