The Nokia 5300 Xpress Music slider cellphone, released for the T-Mobile network in 2006 and since discontinued, requires the user to turn on the phone before you can use any of its communication, productivity or multimedia features. Nokia 5300 users who have enabled the security setting that requires a PIN code each time the phone is started have one extra step to turn on the phone compared to users who have not enabled password protection.
Instructions
1. Press and hold the power button located on the top of the Nokia 5300 Xpress Music until the phone's screen turns on. The power button has a circle symbol on it with a line in the middle. Depending on your security settings, a window may appear prompting you to insert your PIN code.
2. Enter your four-digit PIN code using the phone's keypad if the PIN code prompt appears on the screen. The PIN code is a security feature that you can enable on your phone. When activated, the phone will request a PIN code whenever you turn on the phone.
3. Hold the power button until the Nokia 5300 Xpress Music screen turns black to shut the phone off again.
