The Skype VoIP application is available for both Windows and Mac systems, and there are even a few mobile applications for various platforms. One of these platforms is the Android mobile operating system. By installing the Skype application for Android, you can make voice calls over the Internet without using minutes from your cell phone plan, and can also send messages back and forth with other Skype users.
Instructions
1. Tap the applications icon on your Android phone's home screen to open the list of installed applications.
2. Open the Android Market application by tapping the "Market" icon.
3. Press your phone's search button or tap the magnifying glass in the top-right corner of the screen to display a search box, then enter "Skype" and tap the "Go" button.
4. Tap on "Skype" to open the information page for the Skype application.
5. Press the "Free" button at the top of the screen, then tap "OK" to give the app permission to install and use data from your phone. The Skype application will download and install itself on your Android phone.
