Use The Nokia E71 On Verizon

The service provider info in your Nokia E71 smartphone is stored on a SIM (Subscriber Identity Module) card located in a compartment in the unit. If you want to use your E71 with another service provider, such as Verizon, you are going to need to unlock the phone so it can be used with other SIM cards. This can be done quickly with a code. However, generating this code will cost money.

Instructions

1. Log onto a website that offers unlock codes for cellular phones. Generating a code is quick, but these sites will charge for the code generation.

2. Enter "Nokia E71" in the text fields that require the make and model of the phone.

3. Enter your email and payment information when prompted.

4. Confirm the purchase when prompted and a dialogue box will appear on screen informing you that the code has been generated and sent to the email address you provided.

5. Retrieve the code from your email account and enter it into the phone as you would dial a number. Once you press "Send" the phone will unlock.

6. Slide the back cover off of your E71 and remove the battery to expose the SIM card in the battery compartment.

7. Slide the old SIM card out of its holder and insert a new one that is programmed to Verizon.

8. Replace the card and battery. Your E71 will now work on the Verizon network.
