Download ringtones to your phone.
The Nokia 1600 is a basic cell phone that comes with such standard features as text messaging and a color LCD screen. Like many other cell phones, it's possible to set custom ringtones as call alerts. Even though you can't access the Internet directly from your 1600, you can download music ringtones to the phone from a computer. The best part about it is there is almost no technical knowledge needed.
Instructions
1. Turn on your computer, open the Internet browser and navigate to one of the many ringtone download websites that are compatible with the Nokia 1600 (see Resources).
2. Search the database of music ringtones until you come to the one you would like to download to your phone and click on it.
3. Follow the prompts on screen and enter all the information necessary for the song to be downloaded (name, mobile number, etc.). Enter any necessary payment information if there is a charge for the ringtone.
4. Confirm the download when prompted and wait for a text box to appear informing you that the song has been sent to your phone.
5. Turn on your Nokia 1600 and select "Settings" from the main menu. Then choose "Tone Settings," then "Ringing Tone." A list of ringtone options will appear; your newly downloaded music ringtone is one of them.
