How Does Verizon'S Push To Talk Work

How Does Verizon's Push to Talk Work?

The Verizon Wireless Push to Talk (PTT) service gives cell phone users two-way radio communication with the same device that makes voice calls. You can use Push to Talk throughout the United States on Verizon's network.

Function

Push to Talk calls are activated with the touch of a single button and use the same phone number as voice calls.

Features

You can make simple one-to-one calls or have as many as 50 participants in a group call. Contacts can be managed through the handset or online.

Incoming Calls

Regular voice calls will not be interrupted when a Push to Talk call tries to come through. An alert notifies you of the incoming Push to Talk call, and that caller is told you are unavailable. Voice calls will be sent to voice mail if you are engaged in a Push to Talk call.

Charges

As of March 2010, Push to Talk can be added to an eligible calling plan with an additional monthly fee of $5 per line for unlimited PTT calls.

Benefits

Push to Talk is useful for businesses because it allows supervisors to better manage and communicate with colleagues and employees.
