If your Motorola cell phone does not power up, troubleshoot the problem to fix the battery.
Motorola is a manufacturer of electronic devices, including cell phones. Every cell phone sold comes with a battery, which should last the life of the phone. If it doesn't, you can troubleshoot the problem and perhaps fix the battery. The process only takes a few steps.
Instructions
1. Fully charge the battery. This is the first and most logical first step. As a cell phones ages, it takes longer to charge the battery. Leave the phone connected to the charger overnight or other times during the day you do not need the phone on hand.
2. Power down the phone and remove the Motorola battery for a few minutes. Replace the battery and power the device back on. Sometimes the connection between the battery and the phone becomes stagnant, resulting in the phone no longer obtaining power from the battery. Performing this task might correct the problem.
3. Remove the cell phone battery and wipe down both the battery and the connection points in the phone. If the connection points are dirty, the phone is not going to receive an electrical charge from the battery.
4. Take the battery into your local mobile phone dealer. It is possible the cell phone battery is just beginning to lose its charge hold. The dealer can either refurbish your battery or properly discard it and give you a replacement.
