Increase The Battery Life In A Nokia 6555

Because the Nokia 6555 uses a lithium ion battery, it is thankfully free of many of the memory issues other battery types often develop. Even so, consumers sometimes experience frustration with their power draining too quickly and understandably assume the worst. Before you call your carrier to request a new battery, altering some settings and usage behavior with the Nokia 6555 could extend your battery life without the need for replacement.

Instructions

1. Deactivate audible tones for key presses. Hearing a beep every time you press a button drains your battery needlessly. To do this, press "Menu," "Settings" and then "Tones." From here, select "Keypad Tones" and choose "Off." Then press "Options," and then "Save."

2. Turn Bluetooth off when not in use. Because maintaining a wireless connection with a Bluetooth headset uses a lot of power, turning this feature off will save that energy for other uses. If you are someone who uses your phone for business during the day, turning Bluetooth off when you get home could greatly extend your battery life.

3. Unplug your phone when it is done charging. While lithium ion batteries are safe from "overcharging," the additional heat generated from being plugged into a power source could damage your battery. Letting your battery charge overnight every night slowly diminishes its life cycle and impacts its efficiency.

4. Plan ahead. If you know that you're going to be away from a power source for an extended period of time, minimize your usage of the Web, avoid playing games and do not take any pictures. Refraining from these activities will extend your daily battery life by conserving energy for standby and voice use.
