Set An Mp3 As A Ringtone On A Pantech Duo

Ring tones allow you to customize your phone to fit your personality.

The Pantech Duo is a popular smart phone that runs the Windows Mobile operating system on the AT&T network. It allows the user to set many different file types as ringtones, including WAV, MID, MP3 and WMA files. Prior to setting the ringtone, you must load the MP3 file onto the phone. This can be done in a variety of ways, but the easiest is to send a Multimedia Message (MMS) to your phone from your computer using your personal email account.

Instructions

Transferring the MP3 to the Phone

1. Compose a new message from your personal email account on your computer.

2. Enter "xxxxxxxxxx@txt.att.net" in the "To:" field. Enter your cell phone number, including the area code, in place of the "xxxxxxxxxx" in the email address. Do not use dashes or spaces.

3. Attach the MP3 file that you would like to use as a ringtone to the email and click "Send." The message will arrive on your Pantech Duo in the form of a text message.

4. Open the message when it arrives and press the "Menu" button. Scroll down and select "Save Attachment."

Setting the MP3 as a Ringtone

5. Press the soft key on the left to open "Start" on the home screen.

6. Scroll to Settings and press "OK."

7. Select Sounds and press "OK."

8. Scroll down and select the "Ringtones" option. Scroll through and locate the MP3 file that you would like to use as your ringtone. When the file is highlighted it will play to allow you to preview the file. Press the soft key labeled "Select" to set the ringtone.
