Learn your cell phone and its features.
Most cell phones that you may come across provide national calling, international calling and text messaging. Cell phones can also send and receive picture messages to anyone else with a cell phone. This feature becomes very handy when you want to send pictures to friends or family members who live on the other side of the country or the world. In order to receive picture messages, you need to familiarize yourself with your cell phone, including its features. Your cell phone provider also provides you with information about your cell phone, and whether it is compatible with picture messaging.
Instructions
1. Look through your cell phone's user guide. It will provide you information on the basic features of your cell phone, including if it has picture messaging. If your cell phone did not come with a camera phone, then it may not have that capability.
2. Ask your cell phone provider if you cannot find information in your user's guide. Ask if you can receive picture messages. The company may allow you to upgrade your cell phone (for free) to a current one with picture messaging.
3. Ask your friends or family to send you a picture message. Go to "Menu," "Messages" and "Multimedia Messages." The picture message should appear in your inbox.
