Program A Motorola Bluetooth

Program a Motorola Bluetooth

Bluetooth devices provide a secure connection for computer keyboards and mice, headsets and audio devices without the need for cables or wired connections. Motorola manufactures compact headsets with Bluetooth technology to provide a hands-free speaker and microphone connection for cell phones and computers. All Bluetooth devices must be paired or programmed to connect with the other device before use. This involves entering a PIN or a passkey code to establish a secure connection. Motorola programmed its Bluetooth headsets with a universal code for quick pairing.

Instructions

1. Attach the charger to the Motorola Bluetooth device and plug it into a power outlet. Turn off the device and charge it completely.

2. Press and hold the multifunction button (with the Motorola logo) on the device for at least three seconds and check that the power light turns on and continues to flash or blink.

3. Launch the Bluetooth connection settings utility on the other device. For example, on a cell phone, open the "Settings" menu, select "Bluetooth Connection" and choose "Hands-free."

4. Set the Bluetooth connection setting to "Discoverable" or "Look for Devices" to seek available Bluetooth devices in the area.

5. Choose the Motorola Bluetooth device from the list and click "OK" or "Yes" if applicable. The multifunction button on the Motorola Blluetooth device will flash blue and red, indicating that it is ready to receive a transmission.

6. Type "0000" at the prompt for a PIN or a passkey and press the "OK" button to pair the two devices. If applicable, press the "Link" or "OK" button on the device.

7. Confirm that the device displays a confirmation message that the Bluetooth connection was successful.

8. Exit the Bluetooth connection settings menu. The multifunction button on the Bluetooth device will turn blue, confirming a paired connection.
