Use Skype

You've probably heard about Skype and wondered use it. Skype software allows its users to talk free to people around the world who also have Skype installed on their computers or mobile devices. For a small fee, Skype users can talk to people without Skype on a phone line around the globe.

Instructions

1. Download the Skype software from the Skype website. The free download can be downloaded directly to your computer, as well as to many smartphones and other mobile devices.

2. Create an account to use Skype. If you are only going to use Skype to talk to other Skype users, you can open up an account without a credit card. If you plan to use Skype to make or receive calls to people who don't use Skype, you need to enter your credit card or PayPal information to complete your registration.

3. To make calls to fellow Skype customers, search for them on the Skype site and add them to your contact list. A simple click places the call to another Skype user.

4. You can use Skype to call any landline or cellphone in the world. Although there are long distance fees, they are significantly lower than those of typical phone companies. You choose "Call Phones" and then enter the number; within minutes you can make a Skype call to any phone call --- domestic or international --- for a fraction of the cost.

5. You can also acquire a Skype number that you can give to any of your contacts. When you receive a call, it is accessible on your computer at home and at work and on any mobile device with the Skype software. The number works domestically and in a number of different countries for a small annual fee.
