Replace The Nokia N95 Slide Module

The Nokia N95 is a cellular phone with a front LCD screen that retracts to reveal a keypad. The front screen moves on a slider. If the screen isn't retracting properly it is probably the result of a damaged slide module. You can fix the problem by disassembling the unit, removing the slide module and replacing it with a new one.

Instructions

1. Turn off your N95 and slide the battery door off the rear of the unit. Remove the battery and set it aside.

2. Slide the screen up and remove the two screws from the corners of the rear of the screen.

3. Insert the tip of your plastic case-opener tool into the seam where the top case of the LCD screen meets the body of the unit. Work your way around until the top plastic case comes off.

4. Remove the top keypad from the unit and set it aside.

5. Lift the display screen up and unplug the orange screen ribbon cable from where it connects at the top of the phone.

6. Remove the screws on the sides and corners of the slide module and remove the slide module.

7. Fit a new slide module in the old one's place and reverse the steps for reassembly.
